Know your scar.
A scar is the skin’s repair, and it does not always repair well. Some scars sink, some rise, some stay red or turn brown, and some, keloids, keep growing beyond the injury. Each type responds to different treatment, which is why the clinic assesses the scar before recommending anything.
This page explains the types. The Scar Treatment Clinic page describes how each is treated.
For a full treatment plan, see the Scar Treatment Clinic, or acne scar treatment if your scars came from acne.
